Aqueduto das Águas Livres is a National Monument, built for collecting and transporting water using gravity. Located in Alcantara the main course of the aqueduct covers 18 km, but the whole network of canals extends through nearly 58 km. A perfect opportunity to stroll and observe the most remarkable examples of 18th-century Portuguese engineering.
