Bairro Alto is a quiet and charming neighbourhood during the day but it comes alive at night. Pass by Bica and its steep streets and the classic yellow tram!

Nowadays, the area is still full of young artists showcasing their talents. Chiado was almost completely destroyed by the earthquake of 1755 and then by the big fire in 1988, but has since been rebuilt as one of the most cosmopolitan and busy areas of the city.
