Welcome to our full-day trip to Tomar, Zêzere river and Penedo Furado. This is our second trip in cooperation with Discover Lisbon, on a Summer Project that involves tours and trips on a weekly basis, giving everyone the opportunity to have new options to explore Portugal and enjoy its wonders around Lisbon.
This time we will see some of the best sights and places in the center of Portugal! We will visit the Convent of Christ, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that dates back to the 12th century Templar stronghold, later adapted to become the home of the Knights of the Order of Christ, and supported the 15th century Portuguese Maritime Discoveries!
We will also give you some free time to explore and have lunch in Tomar's city center, main square and church – historically it is one of Portugal's most important cities, as it used to be the main line of defense of the country, and later become the center of the Portuguese overseas expansion.
After being culturally enriched by these century-old monuments, we will be on our way to spend the afternoon in one of the most beautiful sights nature has to offer - the beach, walkways and waterfall of Penedo Furado!
