With approximately 220 million native speakers and 260 million total speakers, Portuguese is usually listed as the fifth most spoken language in the world, the third-most spoken European language in terms of native speakers and it is also an official language of the European Union, Mercosul and the African Union.

SCHOOL & TEACHERS:

Erasmus Life Lisboa and LanguageCraft (a language institute specialized in the teaching of Portuguese as a Foreign Language and accredited by the Ministry) have created a new project which aims at improving the language skills of Erasmus students in Portugal. This new project is called Erasmus Lisbon Language School.

LEVELS OF LEARNING: 

The courses are available in the different CEFR levels (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) going from A1 (beginners) to C2 (Upper-advanced). There are two different beginner’s groups. One of these groups is for romance speakers (for Spanish, Italian and French) and the other one is for non-romance speakers. This way, Lisbon Language School can guarantee that everyone has access to an excellent training experience, adjusted to the students learning pace and linguistic needs.

TYPE OF COURSES & SCHEDULE:

You can choose if you prefer an intensive course to learn Portuguese or a more relaxed extensive course. Both courses complete a total of 30 hours in class. The intensive course lasts around 2 weeks and classes are held every day, from Monday to Friday, two/three hours per session while the extensive course classes are held twice a week covering 30 hours.

GROUP CLASS:

The schedule is flexible depending of student’s availability and the group range from 6 to 10 students.
